Bubble Beats previously known as Music Makers is a personal hygiene innovation designed to make following the CDC guidelines for handwashing quick, easy, and fun to prevent the spread of infection. During COVID-19 these guidelines became well known to the world as everyone used singing "Happy Birthday" twice as an easy to remember timer. JMC set out to time handwashing in a creative and fun method that would be easy and personalized for both kids and adults. Although this was developed during COVID-19, this innovation can be used at home and commercially to continue the fight against the spread of pathogens.
The original Bubble Beats was designed with an app to allow users to load their favorite 20 second clips from their own music library onto the dispenser for playback. However, JMC envisioned many other possibilities for this technology, including installing it in soap dispensers themed to kids' favorite movie characters to play song segments from the movie. Other possibilities that JMC envisioned include dispensers that play ads in commercial and industrial settings, and dispensers that play music based on the location they are installed, such as for concerts, cruise ships, and amusement parks.
As the development continued, it evolved to include other products in both the hygiene and hard goods markets. For example, the same bubble beats technology can easily be installed in toothbrushes that comply with the 2 minute ADA standards for brushing one's teeth. Or the technology can be utilized in novelty items and toys with personalized messages recorded in the app, such as dolls, action figures, and teddy bears.
